Steel is an ongoing project by photographer Ella Grace Paterson, documenting and archiving the underground and DIY live music scene in Newcastle, Australia, and its inhabitants. It pertains to the gritty, rough and ready nature of live music and arts culture, especially among youths.
A project that has been in development for almost two years, it delivers a visceral, confronting and personal look into a piece and period of history in Australian music.
