Morning Prayer — Book Launch & Multidisciplinary Arts Event

Friday, 15 August | Doors open 6:30 PM

Lounge 12B 50 Clyde Street

Optional donation

Morning Prayer, the latest poetry collection by photographer and writer Ella Grace Paterson, will be launched with a carefully curated and experimental evening of multidisciplinary art on Friday, 15 August, at 12B Lounge, 50 Clyde Street. Newcastle’s very own arts precinct, located in Hamilton North. It is Paterson’s second self-published poetry collection, following her 2021 release All the Small Gods, All the Young Angels.

Morning Prayer, written over two years and across two continents, converges space between dreamstates and reality, and explores what it means to be alone in spaces foreign and far between through verse.

This event will offer an immersive experience blending poetry, live music, exhibited visual art, and analog, interactive video installation.

Celebrating the release, the evening will feature:

● Live performances from:

○ 198ARCHIE (SYD)

○ GRACEE (NEWC)

○ EVANGELINE (NEWC)

○ ELIZA EVE (NEWC)

● A live video interactive installation by local analog video artist RHYS.DOT.TV

● A pop-up exhibition showcasing limited edition prints that accompany the poetry collection curated and created by the author herself.

Food and drinks will be available on the night, with optional donation entry. Copies of Morning Prayer will be available for purchase.

This event is set against the industrial, resilient landscape at Clyde st that is embodied by the art and artists it produces. Join us in celebrating Morning Prayer — where word, sound, and image commune.
